#024 ORIGINAL PAINTING for the ROADSHOW POSTER

$500-900

Little known today, Fantasia was introduced to the public via a prestigious theatrical roadshow opening November 30, 1940, at New York’s Broadway Theater, where it ran for 49 weeks, and continuing through 1941 in a total of 13 cities. The program included the acclaimed short “Wynken, Blynken and Nod", the first film shot with the Multiplane camera. The poster for the roadshow brilliantly combined the two films and features Nod sleeping under a canopy of Dewdrop Fairies. The 17 x 22” gouache painting for the poster is exquisite, meticulously created with astonishing brushwork and detail that needs to be seen to be believed. Disney, 1940
