Almost unbelievably rare, this sketch of the Dwarfs gathered at the foot of the stairs as they prepare to search the cottage and look up at the birds peeking back down at them from the rafters is the only known representation of scene 17, which was removed by Walt from the film. The sketch is marked “out” and the scene is listed in the film draft as being eliminated. It is rendered in black, blue, and orange pencil with a red frame line on a 12-field sheet.
