As Snow White lies sobbing in the clearing the morning after her terrifying flight through the forest, the forest animals come quietly out of hiding to bring her gentle solace in this museum-quality set-up. Her image is 5” and she and all 26 animals are hand inked on a 16-field cel. Everything is key. The master watercolor background is 16-field with Sam Armstrong’s initialed OK on the reverse. This set-up was presented by Walt Disney himself to Edward “Eddie” Davis, Managing Director in London for Walt Disney Productions for more than 30 years, and has not been outside the family in all this time. A penciled legend on the reverse says the background was painted 10/1/37, only two-and-a-half months before the film’s glittering debut at Hollywood’s Carthay Circle. Disney, 1937
