#006 ANIMATION DRAWING of THE WITCH AT THE WINDOW
#006 ANIMATION DRAWING of THE WITCH AT THE WINDOW
$600-1,000
"It's apple pies that make the men folks' mouths water." The Witch appears suddenly at the cottage window like an evil apparition to tempt Snow White with her basket of apples in this superb drawing by Norm Ferguson. Fergy, as he was always known around the Studio, was one of four animators personally chosen by Walt to supervise animation on the all-important production of Snow White. The design and animation of the Witch, to this day Disney’s finest villain, is singlehandedly Fergy’s achievement. She is 5-5/8", rendered in black, green, and red pencil on a 12-field sheet, with production stamp. Just see the expression on her conniving face. Every line conveys her desperate need to convince Snow White she is only a helpless old peddler woman. Disney, 1937.
