This is the revealing scene in which Linus explains what his blanket means to him. He is very clear. “This blanket is a necessity to keep me from cracking up. It could be regarded as a spiritual tourniquet. Without this blanket I would be nothing, a ship without a rudder.” There you are. Lucy, frustrated as always by her brother, thinks it is high time he outgrew the blanket, but Linus, bolstered by his talisman, remains in balance. They are 6-1/4 x 5-7/8”, hand inked on two 12-field cel levels, acting out their classic roles on a key master giclée background. Melendez, 1968.
